Kenzie Ruston set to challenge The Gladiators at the Last Great Collesium

After two solid sixth place finishes in the opening two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events, Kenzie Ruston is ready to win at Bristol Motor Speedway. Ruston finds herself third in the points, trailing second place by only one point.

“I am really looking forward to going back”, said Ruston. “I learned so much last year during the race, after starting in the back, I was able to pass 18 cars during the race. If we can start up front, with this team and this car, I think we have an opportunity to compete for the win.” Ruston also added that her team at Ben Kennedy Racing has put two of the best cars on the track this season she has ever had.

When asked about the challenges facing a crew chief at Bristol, Mike Fritts said: “The main challenge at Bristol, is to make sure your car rotates through the corner very well, but is also very comfortable for the driver getting in and off the corners. If Kenzie has that feel she will take the 96 to the front! I loved watching Kenzie in our first two events, she is aggressive and very talented.  The people in the stands that paid the money to see a good race are going to enjoy watching Kenzie at each track in 2014.”

The team will be running chassis number BKR002 at Bristol, a personal favorite of Team Principal Ben Kennedy. “That car was really fast last year”, said Kennedy. “I think Kenzie will have a great opportunity to take Mike and all the guys on the 96 team to Victory Lane this year.”

Kenzie looks to carry her early season momentum into Bristol. After leading four laps at New Smyrna Speedway, and charging through the field twice at Daytona International Speedway, Kenzie knows a win is in her near future. Ruston is one of four drivers to have a top 10 in both K&N Pro Series East races this season.
