Big Machine Records sponsors NASCAR rising star David Garbo Jr.

Big Machine Records, whose triumphs in motorsports are eclipsed only by its success in music, has signed on as primary sponsor for David Garbo Jr. in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.

Big Machine believes the young champion has a bright future ahead of him. “First and foremost, Garbo has shown an ability to win at every level he’s raced,” says Big Machine CEO and Founder Scott Borchetta. “He’s tough and focused on the track, and at the same time he handles himself with professionalism outside the cockpit.”

Garbo is in very impressive company with Big Machine. In addition to the label’s superstar music roster, its on-track lineup has included Indy 500 winners Dan Wheldon, Dario Franchitti, and currently Tony Kanaan. “That’s truly legendary company! I want to thank Scott Borchetta so much for this opportunity,” says Garbo. “But I think what motivates me most a that I’m racing for someone who has more race wins than I do!” Garbo is refering to the label head’s own dominance in the cockpit. Borchetta has five championships as a racer himself, including being the only three-peat champion in history at Nashville’s 100-year-old Tennessee State Fairgrounds Speedway, which he accomplished in the NASCAR Truck Series.

Garbo Jr.’s own accomplishments are also impressive. He earned the National Championship in the Legend Cars in 2012 with 43 wins before moving up to Late Model Stock Cars fulltime in 2013. In his rookie season, he finished 23rd in the nation garnering four victories, including the prestigious Bobby Isaac Classic at Hickory Motor Speedway. He also impressed with his debut performance at Sprint Cup superstar Denny Hamlin’s charity race. At the notorious event held at Richmond International Speedway Garbo finished sixth place, beating all but two of the dozen NASCAR Cup regulars who participated. His showcase season inspired www.race22.com to call him the number one breakthrough NASCAR Late Model Driver of 2013.
