Burton Qualifies 26th at Richmond

Harrison Burton and the No. 21 DEX Imaging Mustang Dark Horse are set to start 26th in Easter Sunday’s 400-lapper at Richmond Raceway.

Burton took that spot with a lap at 119.718 miles per hour in Saturday’s qualifying session.

The practice session earlier on Saturday was encouraging for the DEX Imaging team as Burton was 11th fastest in the session with a best lap at 120.299 mph. That came on the fourth of 37 laps he ran in the session.

He was seventh best among drivers who ran 10 consecutive laps. He averaged 119.152 from his second through his 11th lap.

This weekend, Burton and the No. 21 team are honoring long-time Wood Brothers crew member William “Jabo” Fulp, who passed away earlier this week. The DEX Imaging Mustang will carry a memorial decal for Fulp, who worked with the team for 25 seasons.

Sunday’s 400-lap, 300-mile race is set to get the green flag just after 7 p.m. with Stage breaks at Laps 70 and 230 of 400.

FOX will carry the TV broadcast.
