Dominion Raceway to sponsor No 93 at Richmond

The proposed Dominion Raceway facility in Thornburg, VA, Spotsylvania County announces today its Sponsorship of Car #93 owned by BK Racing and driven by Travis Kvapil.

Dominion Raceway is a newly planned Motorsports facility to be located on Interstate I-95 at Exit 118 in Thornburg, VA. The facility includes a 1/8-mile drag strip, 4/10-mile oval and 2 mile road course. It’s believed that the facility may be the only kind in the world that incorporates three different racing formats served by a single multipurpose building.

“Dominion Raceway is the culmination of everything we have learned at Old Dominion Speedway,” says managing member, Steve Britt. He continues, “It’s an extremely forward thinking project, expands the fan experience greatly with modern facilities, interactive video and numerous venues, not all of which are motorsports, all designed for family fun and enjoyment. It’s fabulous that Ron Devine and BK Racing were willing to work with us so closely on a Dominion Raceway Car for the Richmond Toyota Owners 400 race. Sprint Cup racing is hugely popular and will bring National attention to our proposed facility and the local area. I can’t think of a better awareness vehicle for our facility than this, and we hope everyone takes notice and visits our Facebook page for updates as our project progresses.”

BK Racing has two Sprint Cup entries in the Toyota Owners 400 on April 27th at Richmond International Raceway. They are the Burger King #83 with David Reutimann and the Dominion Raceway #93 with Travis Kvapil.

“What made this such a great opportunity for us as a team was Travis,” says Ron Devine. “Travis came from NASCAR’s weekly racing short track program. Back in the early 90’s you could have seen Travis at any NASCAR local short track on a Saturday night. There’s so many great racers in Cup that came from a weekly short track program such as Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, and Greg Biffle to name only a few. I felt this was a great opportunity to show our support and give back to racing. There’s not a team owner in Cup that doesn’t look for talent from local tracks, so we want to be part of that opportunity as BK Racing grows and becomes more and more successful.”

Steve Britt says, “The Richmond race is always exciting, and we hope people will tune in to Fox Sports at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th, or better yet, buy a ticket and support Dominion Raceway from the stands!”
