The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) travels west for competition this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Corey LaJoie heads to the Lone Star state with new partner Gas Monkey Garage as the primary sponsor of the No. 72 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Located in Dallas, Texas, Gas Monkey Garage is high octane all the time building the best hot rods and customs in the world! Their love of all things fast n’ loud has not only led to a Discovery show of that name, but an expansion into all walks of motorsports. Having competed in 2016 in the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, to an array of racing series under the Gas Monkey Energy banner, Gas Monkey Garage is poised for the same success in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series they have had in their other ventures.
Having two previous MENCS starts, LaJoie has completed a total of 553 laps at the 1.5-mile, oval. In addition, LaJoie has also made two NASCAR XFINITY career starts at Texas Motor Speedway, completing 324 laps and securing a best finish of 20th. Having a week off, sitting out to teammate Cole Whitt at Martinsville Speedway, LaJoie is eager to settle into the seat of the Gas Monkey Garage No. 72. He and the No. 72 team head to Fort Worth ready for action and with determination to secure a solid finish in the AAA Texas 500.
