The remaining three drivers joining Joey Logano to compete for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 18 may not be known for a few more weeks, but one Contender has already secured its spot in Victory Lane.
It was announced today that Homestead-Miami Speedway and Contender Boats, based in Homestead, have renewed their partnership and entered into a new multi-year deal, making Contender the official pleasure boat/watercraft of the championship track.
As part of the deal, the winner of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Ford Ecoboost 400 will receive a 25-foot bay boat, courtesy of Contender. Unveiled today, the custom boat for 2018 was designed by local Miami artist Eric Estrada and will mark the eighth consecutive year that the winner of the race has received this uniquely South Florida prize.
“For more than 30 years, Contender has been one of the leading boat manufacturers here in South Florida, and we’re ecstatic to continue working with them to create a prize that is so emblematic of South Florida,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer. “Many drivers have told us what a thrill it would be to win our Cup race and have a boat of their own, and we’re excited that Contender is providing the world’s best drivers this opportunity.”
