Garrett Smithley scored his best Xfinity Series finish in the past dozen races Saturday, rolling to a 17th-place finish in the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.
Smithley started 29th and steadily moved through the field, finishing on the lead lap.
“It was a nice run for us,” said Smithley, driving the Mubea/Mark Spaulding Construction Chevrolet. “We’ve had a couple of strong top-20 finishes back-to-back now, and we’re planning on finishing the season strong.”
Smithley stayed 18th in Xfinity driver points.
