M&M’S® Brand Snack Mix to Grace the No. 43 at The Brickyard

Mars Chocolate North America and the new M&M’S® Brand Snack Mix will be featured on the No. 43 Pilot Flying J Ford Mustang for Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) driver Michael Annett in the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 28.

The branding and imagery of the M&M’S® Brand Snack Mix joins Annett, who is presently sixth in the NNS driver point standings, for his first career start at “The Brickyard.”

The new M&M’S® Brand Snack Mix is the perfect product for Pilot Flying J; the exciting sweet and salty mix is great for easy, on-the-go snacking with a re-sealable package.  All three varieties, M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies Snack Mix, M&M’S® Brand Dark Chocolate Candies Snack Mix and the M&M’S® Brand Peanut Chocolate Candies Snack Mix, are available now at Pilot and Flying J locations across North America.

“Mars is a great partner of ours, and we are thrilled to feature the new M&M’S® Brand Snack Mix on our racecar as well as in our stores,” said Laura Palenkas, Vice President of Marketing for Pilot Flying J. “This new snack option is sure to be a hit with our customers that are always on the go.”

This is not the first time a Mars product has been featured on a Pilot Flying J racecar driven by Annett. In 2011, the COMBOS® brand was featured prominently on Annett’s car for the NNS season finale at Homestead Miami Speedway.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway, otherwise known as “The Brickyard,” has hosted the NASCAR Sprint Cup series since 1994, but opens its gates for the first time to the Nationwide Series this year. The first NASCAR driver to turn laps at Indianapolis was none other than RPM owner Richard Petty, in a testing event open to the public, in 1993. That car sits in the track’s museum today.
