Jason Bowles 16th at New Hampshire

Jason Bowles and his American Majority No. 81 Toyota team continue to impress everyone in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with another solid run Saturday at the Magic Mile in New Hampshire.  Even after suffering a broken right rear shock mount before the 50th lap, Jason fought hard and maintained his cool, bringing home a 16th place finish.

After another solid top-20 qualifying run, Jason would bring the American Majority No. 81 Toyota to the green flag in 16th place.  Even with no right-rear shock for most of the race, Jason ran between 14th and 18th all day.  When the checkered flag flew, Bowles was running in the same position he started in, recording a 16th place finish for the team.

“I am very pleased with the way Jason stuck with it, that car didn’t look fun to drive at all,” explained crew chief, John Monsam, after the race.  “We had a good car before the shock mount broke but it’s pretty tough to drive a three-legged race car.  It was bouncing all over the place and Jason handled it like a veteran.  He didn’t complain at all and brought us home another good finish.”

Jason’s 16th place run marked the 6th top-20 finish for the No. 81 team in the last eight races, and the 9th of the season thus far.  Bowles will remain 13th in the driver points while the MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 moves up to 20th in the owner standings.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series moves to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend for the 18th race of the 2012 season.  The STP 300 will be run on Sunday, July 22nd at 2PM EST on ESPN.
