Travis Pastrana Finishes 31st at New Hampshire

Travis Pastrana NASCAR Nationwide Series Race Recap: No. 99 Boost Mobile Toyota driver Travis Pastrana finished 31st in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The RAB Racing driver had high expectations going into the 200-lap race after a good final practice on Friday afternoon. However, the No. 99 received minor front-end damage at the start of the race when the field stacked up coming to take the green flag for the initial start. Pastrana’s bad luck didn’t end there, as the Maryland native suffered right-front flat tire failures on Laps 35 and 80. The second flat tire sent the No. 99 into the Turn 4 outside wall, extensively damaging the right front of his Toyota Camry, resulting in a premature end of the day for the action sports star. The 28-year-old driver will be back behind the wheel of the No. 99 Boost Mobile Toyota next weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.

  *   Pastrana started 20th and finished 31st

  *   Went a lap down to the leaders on Lap 31

  *   Suffered a flat right front tire on Lap 35 and Lap 80

  *   Received extensive damage at Lap 80 that eliminated him from competition

  *   Received his first DNF (did not finish) of his NASCAR career

PASTRANA QUOTE:

“The tire went flat coming into the corner. It bogged up real bad on that first restart — I guess it wasn’t green yet, but everyone took off like it was green so I started shifting through the gears and it just stacked up. We knocked the car out of alignment and it got really tight in the front. I couldn’t turn the car at all. They gave me such a great car to start out there. I hate that I just went too soon on that first green when everyone started going. With it tight all day, that’s what we had the first time and it just wouldn’t turn so I was locking up the brakes a lot trying to get the car in and eventually just wore out that right-front tire.”
