Gase Asking Fans For Help Picking Darlington Throwback Scheme to Honor His Father

Every year at Darlington Raceway teams across NASCAR run throwback paint schemes to commemorate some of the famous schemes from past drivers. Typically NASCAR picks a specific era for the drivers to choose a scheme from, but for NASCAR’s 70th birthday they’re allowing drivers and teams to pick from any era.

This year Gase wanted to make his throwback scheme a little more special. “I want to honor my dad, Bob Gase, who got me into racing and has been there every step of the way,” said Gase. “I told our great sponsors Agri Suply and Sparks Energy about what I wanted to do and they were all for it. I thank them enough for letting us do this!” .To honor his father, he will be running one of his old schemes that he used to run when he raced at their local track Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Gase has turned to his fans to help him pick the scheme. One scheme is a purple & black modified in which his father won the 2003 Championship at their home track. The second one is a late model scheme that he ran back in 1995. Make sure to check out Joey Gase Racing on Facebook to cast your vote! They’re set to reveal the fan favorite on Thursday night!
