Pocono Raceway is one of the race tracks on the NASCAR Xfinity Series circuit that feels like home to Garrett Smithley, who was born in Ligonier, PA. Smithley is feeling very confident ahead of this Saturday’s Pocono Green 250.
This will be Smithley’s third time racing at Pocono Raceway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He has also raced there once in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and twice in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards (ARCA).
“I love going to Pocono,” said Smithley. “Pocono Raceway is my second favorite track, and I made my first stock car start there in an ARCA car in 2013. The new aero package that the NASCAR Xfinity Series is using this weekend is going to make for a wild race, so I can’t wait to race there this weekend in my No. 0 JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet Camaro.”
NASCAR Xfinity Series practice is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying will start at 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, and the Pocono Green 250 will get the green flag at 1:00 p.m. ET on FS1.
