Impressive Run For Ross Chastain At Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Ross Chastain overcame a pit road speeding penalty and a late-race spin to finish in the top-20 in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Boyd Gaming 300. The No. 4 Flex Seal Chevrolet Camaro finished 18th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS).

Chastain qualified 14th, one of the best ever qualifying positions for his No. 4 JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team at LVMS. With less than 10 laps to go, contact sent Chastain sliding down the race track, but he was able to avoid damage to his new racecar with an impressive save.

“We had really good speed all weekend, but I made a few mistakes on my end,” said Chastain. “I thought I was going to get run into on pit road and got a speeding penalty at one point, and we had a few gremlins with the new car. Overall, though, we showed a lot of promise and a lot of raw speed. I’m really looking forward to racing in California with this same car in two weeks. Got to say a huge thanks to Flex Seal once again for coming on board with us, and I’m looking forward to driving another new car for Phoenix next week.”

Next up for the NASCAR Xfinity Series is the DC Solar 200 at ISM Raceway in Phoenix, A.Z., on March 10th, 2018.
