Garrett Smithley, driver of the No. 0 JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet Camaro, is eager to return to Richmond Raceway for this week’s Virginia 529 College Savings 250.
Richmond was the site of Smithley’s first career NASCAR Xfinity Series top-20 finish early in the 2016 season.
“Richmond has is probably my favorite short track,” Smithley said. “I had my best short-track finish of my career here, so naturally I’m pretty excited about going back. We have made improvements to this car and setup all year, so I’m looking to this weekend.”
Smithley is 23rd in Xfinity Series driver points entering the race.
The Xfinity Series will have a one-day show Friday at Richmond. Practice is scheduled at 8:00 a.m.(ET), and qualifying is set for 4:15 p.m. Race coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m. on NBCSN.
