When stage two came to a close on lap 92, Gallagher was scored in the 18th position. Cohen elected Gallagher to pit for four tires, fuel, and no adjustments, restarting 24th on lap 96. Working his way back up into the 19th position when the right front tire went down on Gallagher’s No. 23 machine. Coming to pit road to change the right side tires and returned to the field in the 32nd position when a caution came out shortly after returning to the field. Quote

“Not only did we have a good looking throwback scheme we had a pretty fast car this weekend at Darlington. I was running around the 19th position and could have had a top-15 day when the tire went down. Then it went down again on the caution laps that sent me into the wall pretty hard and ended our day early. I am really looking forward to going to Richmond next weekend.”
