Diabetes Awareness Ambassador Cristie Field to ‘Ride’ with Ryan Reed at Chicago

Drive to Stop DiabetesSM representative Cristie Field will ‘ride’ along with Roush Fenway Racing driver Ryan Reed during Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. Field will have her name featured on a decal above the passenger-side window on the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang as part of the joint campaign to spread awareness and education about diabetes.

Like Reed, Field lives with diabetes and knows the importance of staying healthy to manage her diabetes. Through working with her doctor, eating healthy and exercising, Field successfully lives with diabetes and is an inspiration for those that live with the disease.

Field’s favorite ways to stay healthy include participating in the American Diabetes Association® Tour De Cure®, for which she has been a team captain the last three years.  In addition, Field has focused her efforts on spreading awareness for the Red Riders on the Tour De Cure planning committee. Red Riders are other people living with diabetes who participate in this signature fundraising cycle event.

“Cristie’s participation with the American Diabetes Association in the Tour de Cure is really inspiring,” said Reed.  “It’s no small task to be a team captain, so it’s just really cool to see someone participating in #IDriveMyHealth and making positive lifestyle changes to manage their diabetes.”

Ryan Reed and the ‘Riding with Ryan’ program roll into Chicagoland Speedway this weekend for the first time this season.  Last season, Reed finished 11th at the 1.5-mile track after starting 10th.
