Wallace Scored 20th Consecutive Top 20 Finish at Phoenix

On the heels of the history-making 520th start at Texas Motor Speedway, Kenny Wallace helped RAB Racing with Brack Maggard achieve another important milestone. The Wypall 200 at Phoenix International Raceway marked RAB Racing’s 100th start in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series.

Drivers took the track for three scheduled practices leading up to the Wypall 200. Though Cup Series drivers had an opportunity to test on the new surface last month, the track was foreign to the Nationwide Series drivers who received extra practice time. Wallace powered the No. 09 Toyota Camry from 20th in first practice to 12th in final practice and qualified 12th for the race.

The newly reconfigured Phoenix International Raceway threw many of the Nationwide Series drivers for a loop, with Wallace included. Though he avoided numerous multi-car wrecks, Wallace hit the wall on the seventh lap, knocking the toe out. The damage relegated him to the 30th position, but he made up ground to finish 17th, his ninth consecutive Top-20 finish.

With only one race to go, Wallace remains at seventh in the NNS driver point standings. The No. 09 occupies the 14th position in the NNS owner point standings.
