Ross Chastain drove through an adventurous evening at Daytona International Speedway and scored his best finish of the season – 11th – in the Subway Firecracker 250 Friday night.
Chastain spun off the track in a 14-car wreck on lap 16 and was involved in another big accident with two laps to go but recovered to finish strong.
“A crazy night and a crazy race, but we did well,” Chastain said. “It seemed like everybody was driving over the edge, and you had to be on your toes every second. Another great job by the team to get a big finish.”
The run kept Chastain 13th in Xfinity Series points.
