The season-opening Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway wasn’t particularly pleasant for Ryan Preece.
Only five laps into the race, a blown tire sent Preece into an accident and out of the race. He never had a chance to show the strength of his JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet.
This week, Preece rolls into DIS again, looking for much better luck.
“After all the time we spent in Daytona in February, it was tough to fall out of the race that early,” Preece said. “We’re going back shooting to finish the race and do well. It owes us one.”
Preece, driving the G&K Services Chevrolet this weekend, sits 19th in Xfinity driver points entering the race.
