David Starr Finishes 23rd in the Boyd Gaming 300
In the first of the the three stops in NASCAR Goes West, David Starr qualified 30th for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With a caution on lap one of the 200 lap event, Starr relayed he was struggling with the ‘bumps’ of the track surface. While continuing to seek a comfortable groove, he consistently ran in the range of 26th-28th position for the majority of the first half of the race. Under caution on lap 71, Starr said the Zachry Camry was hitting hard on the splitter. Crew Chief, Frank Kerr, opted to stay out to take the wave around in an effort to gain track position. Starr brought home a 23rd place finish in the No. 44 Zachry Camry.

JJ Yeley Finishes 21st in the Boyd Gaming 300
Long green flag runs at Las Vegas Motor Speedway did leave room for much luck Saturday afternoon for the No. 14 TriStar Motorsports Toyota. Running in the Top 20 for a large part of the 200 lap event, Yeley found misfortune during one of the Green Flag runs, having to pit twice for a loose wheel. Not deterred from the minor set back, Yeley managed to come home 21st, just outside of the Top 20.

Yeley:  “I have to thank everyone on this TriStar Motorsports team for all of their hard work this entire weekend. We battled several long green flag runs which did not go in our favor, then the loose wheel. Fortunately we were able to take advantage of wave arounds and come home 21st. I’m ready to move on to Phoenix next weekend with it being my home track.”
