Born Oct. 12th 1941 in Ferguson, North Carolina, Morgan Shepherd’s NASCAR career dates as far back as 1970. With 19 wins, 107 Top 5’s, 235 Top 10’s and a 1980 Late Model Series championship in NASCAR’s two highest levels of competition, Shepherd continues to compete full time as the owner/driver of his #89 Nationwide Series team.
He is currently 21st in driver points having competed in all 30 events this year. A popular fan favorite, Shepherd’s website, www.racewithfaith.com has drawn over 7 million views from 116 countries around the world in 2011.
Shepherd Racing Ventures will celebrate Morgan’s 70th birthday at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday night with a special logo on his #89 Chevrolet.
