No. 43 WinField Team Optimistic in Return to Texas

After a two week hiatus, Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField are eager to get back to the track. The spring race at Texas Motor Speedway was a great performance by the team and makes for a perfect site to return to racing after the fall break. The team showed great speed and led seven laps. The mile-and-a-half tracks have been a strong point for the No. 43 WinField team, and they feel this track is their best opportunity for a Top-Five finish. Currently, Armstrong sits in 14th Championship Point Standings just 11 points outside of 13th.

Armstrong has a total of seven starts at the track in different racing series, including three starts in both the XFINITY Series and the Camping World Truck Series and one start in the ARCA racing series. His best finish of 10th place came from the 2014 spring XFINITY Series race. As an organization, RPM has seven XFINITY Series starts at Texas with an average finish of 15th. Their best effort was a ninth-place finish in 2012.

“Texas is one of the fastest mile-and-a-half tracks we go to, if not the fastest. Tire wear is big here. You have to have a car that’s good on the long run to stay competitive. It only takes a few laps before there is a big drop off in the tires. All year we’ve been able to find speed in the long runs, so we’ll be able to use that to our advantage. We led laps here in the spring and have really good notes to work off of. This track shares a lot of similarities with Charlotte. We were fast there too. I’m really glad to be back behind the wheel of the WinField Ford this weekend. We had a much needed break, but we’re all ready to be back at the track.”
