Buescher Looking to Build on Superspeedway Success

Chris Buescher heads to Daytona International Speedway as the NASCAR XFINITY Series points leader for the sixth week in a row.  Coming off a successful season-opener at the 2.5-mile track in February, Buescher looks to better his finishing position in the No. 60 Bit-O-Honey Mustang by one spot, attempting to visit Victory Lane for the third time this season.

“Roush Fenway Racing has a very strong superspeedway program,” said Buescher.  “I’m really pleased with how our team has performed so far this season, and I really think that’s something we can continue to build on.  I know we’ll have a great shot at getting our Bit-O-Honey Ford Mustang to Victory Lane.”

Through the first 14 races of the season, Buescher has led the point standings for a total of seven races, and has not ranked lower than third.  The Prosper, Texas native has completed 99.9 percent of the laps this season, turning 2,676 of 2,680 laps.

Through the first half of the season, Buescher has already earned three more top-five finishes than he tallied in the 2014 season.  In addition to his two wins, Buescher has earned eight top-fives, 10 top-10s and has led 145 laps.

“My goal is to win every weekend and the points situation will take care of itself,” said Buescher.  “Obviously, that’s not always possible, but we’ve really capitalized on our good days, and made sure our bad days aren’t that bad.”

In the season-opener, Buescher led 12 laps and pushed his Roush Fenway teammate Ryan Reed to his first career NASCAR XFINITY Series victory.  In the second restrictor plate race of the season at Talladega Superspeedway, Buescher battled up front all day in his Bit-O-Honey Ford Mustang, leading six laps before finishing sixth.
