NXS: Austin Dillon Dominates Hisense 300 at Charlotte

Austin Dillon dominated the Hisense 300 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday by leading 163 of the 200 laps to capture his fourth career victory in the series. Dillon won his second race of the year after scoring the pole earlier in the day at the 1.5-mile oval.

Denny Hamlin brought home a runner-up finish after giving Dillon a run for his money late into the event. Hamlin overcame a loose wheel early on in the running of the 300-mile event. Hamlin made his last start in the series today after six total starts. Erik Jones will take over the ride next weekend at Dover.

Kasey Kahne brought his No. 5 Chevrolet to a finish of third after an eighth-place qualifying effort. The Washington native led one lap during the day while pit stops cycled through. Charlotte is the only scheduled race for the No. 5 JR Motorsports ride.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway serves as the Dash4Cash qualifier for the four highest finishing XFINITY Series drivers. Those four drivers include Regan Smith, Darrell Wallace Jr., Daniel Suarez and Ty Dillon. The highest finisher next weekend at Dover will receive $100,000.

Chris Buescher will leave the Charlotte Motor Speedway sitting with a four point lead over Ty Dillon. Chase Elliott will leave the track sitting in the third spot. Rounding out the top five include Darrell Wallace Jr. and Regan Smith.

The next race for the NASCAR XFINITY Series will be at the Dover International Speedway next Saturday. Coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET. on FOX and FOX Sports Go. The Motor Racing Network will carry the live radio broadcast.
