Landon Cassill has been so close to victory at Talladega Superspeedway that he could taste it.
He hopes to get closer in Saturday’s Winn-Dixie 300 Xfinity Series race, the ninth event of the season.
Cassill has raced in the Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck series at NASCAR’s biggest track and has scored top-10 finishes in each series. He has a fourth in Sprint Cup (2014), an eighth in Xfinity (2014) and a sixth in Truck (2008).
“It’s a great track and a place where almost everybody is more or less equal,” Cassill said. “The draft puts everybody in a big pack, and, with the right moves and a little luck, you can be right there near the front at the finish. We’re looking for that Saturday.”
Cassill will drive the G&K Services Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller at Talladega.
