Jeffrey Earnhardt rolling into finale

Jeffrey Earnhardt is rolling into the final race of his first full Nationwide Series season in an optimistic mood.

“All things considered, we’ve had a pretty good year,” Earnhardt said of his JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team. “For one of the sport’s smaller teams, we’ve done well. The guys have given me good cars, and we’ve had some good runs. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the year. Now we want to finish big at Homestead.”

Earnhardt will drive the GCL Construction/Polyglass-Tobacco Free Florida Chevrolet in Saturday’s Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Earnhardt sits 18th in the Nationwide driver standings entering the race.

Practice is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 1:15 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 4:30.

Chase Elliott locked up the series driving championship last week at Phoenix.
