Kwasniewski Battles for a 14th-Place Finish in Texas

The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) made its second and final stop of the 2014 season this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. Dylan Kwasniewski and his No. 31 AccuDoc Solutions team looked to build momentum for the final three-week stretch to end the 2014 season on a strong note. After two solid practice sessions on Friday afternoon, Kwasniewski went out on Saturday morning and laid down a time good enough to claim the 14th starting position for Saturday afternoon’s shootout. After battling a loose racecar during the last part of the race, Kwasniewski crossed the finish line in the 14th position.

Following the drop of the green flag, Kwasniewski maintained his starting position until the first caution of the afternoon flew on lap nine. During the caution, Kwasniewski reported to crew chief Shannon Rursch that his AccuDoc Solutions Chevy was tight all around during the short run. Deciding that it was too early pit, Rursch kept Kwasniewski on the track during the quick caution. Kwasniewski would continue to hold steady inside the top 15 until making his first green-flag pit stop on lap 47. Just as Kwasniewski entered his pit box for service, the second caution of the afternoon came out, placing Kwasniewski a lap down. Despite the unfortunate luck, Kwasniewski was able to take the wave around prior to the restart, restarting on the lead lap in 20th position. The Las Vegas, Nevada native would eventually work his way up to 16th by the halfway point of the race, and as high as 12th by lap 155. On lap 174, Rursch called Kwasniewski down pit road for one final green-flag pit stop on lap 174, changing four tires and adding fuel. After the stop, Kwasniewski continued to battle, ultimately crossing the finish line in the 14th position.

With his finish on Saturday afternoon, Kwasniewski moved into the top 10 in the NNS Driver Point Standings with two races remaining in the 2014 season

Dylan Kwasniewski on Racing at Texas:

Today was a solid day for our this No. 31 team. We unloaded off the truck really fast, which is a testament to the hard work these guys are doing back at the shop. We struggled during the middle portion of the race with a loose racecar, but Shannon made great calls on the box all day and really helped the car towards the end. We’ll build on this race and move forward to Phoenix next weekend.”
