Ellis Car to Again Pay Tribute to Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Military Heroes Campaign

Ryan Ellis has been signed by JGL Racing for their #93 Dodge Challenger to run in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250 race at Richmond International Raceway.  The race will take place on Friday, September 5that 7:30pm EDT, and will be televised live on ESPN2.  Kappa Sigma Fraternity is being recognized by Ellis as tribute signage to help advance the values and educational programming of his college fraternity, as well as raise awareness for its Military Heroes Campaign.

“I am really excited and proud to be able to do this for my fraternity and the Military Heroes Campaign again this year. The timing is perfect as Kappa Sigma chapters across North America begin recruitment, and I hope that we will have brothers from across the area at the race or watching our letters on track on ESPN. As an undergrad, I was extremely proud to wear the letters on and around campus, and I couldn’t be prouder to represent Kappa Sigma this weekend on national television,” said Ellis, who is a 2008 initiate of the Kappa-Phi Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at George Mason University.

Sponsoring the #93 this weekend will be The Wilton Companies, Ashburn Pub, and Allsports Grand Prix, which allows the team to promote the charitable endeavors of Kappa Sigma.

“I’m very thankful for our sponsorship from The Wilton Companies, the Ashburn Pub, and Allsports Grand Prix for helping us make this happen. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the 93 Dodge Challenger for JGL Racing! Big thanks to James Whitener, Gregg and Denise Mixon for giving me the opportunity to represent Kappa Sigma and all that we stand for!” said Ellis.

Kappa Sigma’s Military Heroes Campaign, a primary program of the Fraternity’s A Greater Cause community service initiative, honors and aids the thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception in 2007, the campaign has donated nearly $500,000 to non-profit organizations who advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat. The Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign logo will adorn the hood of Ellis’s #93 Dodge Challenger on Friday night under the lights at Richmond International Raceway, which is the closest track to where Kappa Sigma was founded in Charlottesville, Va.
