Earnhardt a road warrior again

The road-racing skills of Jeffrey Earnhardt will be tested for the second straight week this weekend as the Nationwide Series visits the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200.

Earnhardt finished 21st last week at the Watkins Glen International road course in New York. Earlier this year, in the season’s first road race for Nationwide drivers, he was 23rd at Road America.

“We’re gaining on the road-course thing,” Earnhardt said. “It’s a different mindset for me, but I enjoy it. And the Mid-Ohio course is a fun one to drive.”

Earnhardt will be in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 4 Chevrolet, sponsored this week by Bandit Industries.

Founded in 1983, Bandit Industries is a global manufacturer of hand-fed and whole tree wood chippers, stump grinders, horizontal grinders, forestry mowers and specialty wood processing equipment. The company is based outside Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
