Blake Koch Rookie Of The Race at New Hampshire

Blake Koch continued his impressive rookie season this weekend in his first race at the Magic Mile in Loudon, New Hampshire.  Blake earned his 4th top-20 finish of the season and 5th Sunoco Rookie of the Race award.

“I’m really happy with everyone on the Daystar team.  This was another new track for me and we worked hard all weekend for this result,” Blake said.  “If we can keep this going we’re going to have a great shot at winning Rookie of the Year.”

Learning different tracks each weekend has been nothing new for Blake as he has been doing it all season long.  New Hampshire is a tough track to get the hang of but Blake was able to adapt quickly.  The Daystar.com No. 81 was 25th on the sheets for practice and Blake matched that by qualifying in the 25th spot as well.

Blake maintained his starting position for the better portion of the race before making his move late.  In the last 15 laps, the MacDonald Motorsports team was able to advance 5 positions into the top-20.  Blake brought the Daystar.com No. 81 Dodge home in 18th for his 4th top-20 of the season.  The finish earned Blake his second straight Sunoco Rookie of the Race award as well.

Two strong runs in a row for the Daystar team have helped them in the points standings tremendously.  Blake once again moved another spot forward into 19th and the No. 81 also gained a position into 25th in the owner’s standings.
