Ingersoll Rand Sponsors the First Mexican-Born NASCAR® National Series Driver

Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in compressed air systems and services, power tools, material handling, and fluid management equipment, is pleased to announce its associate sponsorship for NASCAR® driver Carlos Contreras. For the first time behind the wheel of the TriStar Motor Sports No. 44 Toyota Camry, Contreras piloted the road course races on the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule at Road America on June 21. Contreras will race in Watkins Glen on August 9 and Mid-Ohio on August 16.

“Ingersoll Rand is proud to welcome Carlos to our racing family,” said Phillip Delnick, vice president of North and Latin America sales for power tools at Ingersoll Rand. “We’ve seen the impact Carlos’ career has made internationally, and, as a company that prides itself in delivering world-class performance, we know he has what it takes to deliver the same behind the wheel of the No. 44.”

Contreras is an internationally known driver with seven Mexican championships and great popularity among Latin American racing fans. Originally from Mexico City, Contreras has been on the NASCAR Nationwide circuit for 11 years and was the first Mexican-born driver in any NASCAR national series. Before his sign-on with TriStar Motorsports, Contreras drove the No. 15 for Rick Ware Racing in the part-time Nationwide Series. Contreras is in hot pursuit of his “Chase for 100,” a personal goal of making his 100th NASCAR start this year.

“I am so happy to be representing Ingersoll Rand as driver of the TriStar Motorsports No. 44,” said Contreras. “Ingersoll Rand is a true global company that touches our lives every day through a variety of industry leading brands and products. They give a world-class effort every day, and I want them to know they can expect the same from me in the Ingersoll Rand No. 44!”

The Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by Johnsonville at Road America on June 21 was Contreras’s 93rd NASCAR start.
