Jeffrey Earnhardt, racing at Iowa Speedway for the first time, finished 23rd in Sunday’s Get To Know Newton 250 Nationwide Series race.
The finish kept Earnhardt in 15th position in the Nationwide driver point standings.
Earnhardt, driving the Flex Seal Chevrolet, qualified 25th and raced in the 20s throughout the afternoon. He finished five laps behind the leaders.
“It wasn’t the finish we were looking for, but it’s a run we can build on,” Earnhardt said. “I’ll be a lot more familiar with the track next time we race here. It’s a fun track, although I wish we could have finished a little better.”
