Texas Motor Speedway will attempt to prove once again this weekend that all things are bigger in the Lone Star State.
TMS will debut Big Hoss TV, its new backstretch video board, this weekend. Billed as the world’s largest high-definition LED video board, Big Hoss is 218 feet wide and 94.6 feet tall and dominates the track’s backstretch.
“I hope we’re on that TV a lot this week,” said Landon Cassill, driver of the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller G&K Services Chevrolet. “It’s going to be fun to see what it looks like and how it will change the track experience for race fans. Texas always does everything with style.”
Cassill, who is 14th in Nationwide Series driver points, will be looking for another solid finish in Friday night’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300. In a bit of unusual scheduling, the TMS Nationwide race is being held on Friday night instead of Saturday to avoid conflict with the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament, which is scheduled in Dallas.
Through five seasonal races, Cassill has a top finish of 12th – two races ago at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. In three previous Nationwide races at TMS, he has a top run of 18th.
