Jamie Dick drove the #55 Viva Auto Group Chevrolet Camaro for Viva Motorsports to a disappointing 27th place finish on Saturday in the Drive4COPD 300 at the Daytona International Speedway. After qualifying a career best seventh, Jamie Dick and the Viva Motorsports team where determined to get a solid finish. They did so by staying in the top 14 and leading multiple laps. After a routine green flag stop for fuel and tires on lap 43, the team had to serve a pass through penalty for speeding on pit road. As a result Jamie Dick went down two laps. When the caution flew on lap 116 Jamie was awarded the lucky dog pass, setting up for a green-white-checkered finish coming home 27th.
“This was the best car I have ever driven at a superspeedway”, said Jamie Dick. “We were upfront for most of the race, was able to lead some laps, but the speeding penalty hurt us. It’s a bummer, but we have to be positive, and our team made many gains this weekend that will lead to positive finishes in the future.”
