Leavine Family Racing and band Jetset Getset donate quarter panel to Susan G. Komen

Last October, NASCAR® went “pink” in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One of the pink-painted race cars was Leavine Family Racing’s No. 95 Ford Mustang, nicknamed the “Jetset Getset Ford” in honor of LFR’s official band. Now, LFR and Jetset Getset have donated a quarter panel from that car to Susan G. Komen®, to help raise money for breast cancer research and services. The quarter panel is being auctioned off on eBay now through December 16. The quarter panel will be autographed by NASCAR driver Reed Sorenson and by Jetset Getset, which was named by the Country Music Association among “Who New to Watch in 2013.”

“When our NASCAR partner, Leavine Family Racing, sent us the quarter panel, we wanted to put it to good use for a charity,” said Kelli Jette, manager of Jetset Getset. “Since the car was painted pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it only made sense to donate it to Susan G. Komen.”

Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Since its founding in 1982, Komen has funded more than $800 million in research and provided more than $1.6 billion in funding to screening, education, treatment and psychosocial support programs serving millions of people in more than 30 countries worldwide. Komen was founded by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life.
