Kyle Busch & No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota prepare for Season Finish in Miami

Kyle Busch will pilot the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry this week, for the 26th time in 2013, and aim for his 13th win with the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) NASCAR Nationwide Series team he re-joined just 11 months ago. A victory would not only match his personal best career season, (13 wins accomplished in 2011) but a Homestead-Miami (Fl.) Speedway win by Busch could also secure the Nationwide Series Owner’s Championship for J.D. Gibbs and the JGR No. 54 Monster Energy crew.

The 28-year-old Las Vegas, Nev. native is no stranger to the winner’s circle at the season-ending event in Florida. In six Nationwide series races, Busch has recorded two wins (’09 and ’10), one pole (’12), five top-five and five top-10 finishes with 389 laps led. Further success at Homestead-Miami Speedway includes 237 laps led and one top-five result in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series along with one win, four top-five, five top-10 finishes and 244 laps led in the NASCAR Truck Series.

In this race last year, Busch started first by securing the pole-qualifying position for his own Kyle Busch Motorsports No. 54 NNS team. Then owner-driver Busch drove a strong race and led 89 laps to secure a solid second-place finish.

To date, in their first full schedule together, the No. 54 JGR Monster Energy team has accumulated 12 wins, 21 top-five finishes, 24 top-10 finishes and 2,017 laps led. They currently sit second in the series Owner’s Championship standings, four points away from the series leading No. 22 Penske Ford. A victory by either Nationwide Series team will lock in the Owner’s Championship title. Undoubtedly Busch is up for the challenge and the No. 54 team is prepared to put him into that lead position.
