Mike Wallace and the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Nationwide Series team have joined hands this weekend with the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety to share an important message. Wallace’s black 01 Chevrolet will carry the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” message in Friday night’s Feed The Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway.
“I’m happy to represent a program that creates public awareness and helps save lives,” Wallace said.
“I’m looking forward to racing the ‘Drive Sober’ Impala because we’ve never promoted anything like this before. It’s great to be sharing this important message with the fans at Kentucky because it’s such a good area for racing.”
KOHS Executive Director Bill Bell said the message Wallace will share this weekend is particularly critical during the busy summer months. “We’re grateful for the assistance that Mike Wallace and JD Motorsports are providing as we promote the ‘Drive Sober’ message,” Bell said.
“Alcohol-related fatalities are up in 2013. In fact, 20 percent of the fatal crashes in Kentucky this year have involved alcohol. As summer revs up, we hope Kentuckians remember to avoid driving while impaired.”
