SR2 Motorsports Announces Unique Driver Program with Butler Brothers

SR2 Motorsports is proud to announce a unique 10 race program with the brother combination of Ken Butler III (KB3) and Brett Butler.  The Butler’s join the families of the Busch’s, Wallace’s, and Labonte’s to name a few of the recent brother duos in NASCAR.  The program will include each of the brothers driving five races for the SR2 Motorsports team.  The program kicks off this weekend at Iowa Speedway where KB3 will climb behind the wheel of the team’s No. 24 Toyota.

“This is a really unique program and all of us at SR2 are thrilled to have the Butler Brothers join our growing organization,” stated SR2 Motorsports team owner Jason Sciavicco. “We have worked very hard to continue building our program and the addition of the Butler Brothers to Jason (White) and Blake (Koch) is a perfect fit.  We look forward to some exciting things with this program.”

The Butler Brothers have a combined 39 career starts in the NASCAR ranks.  KB3 has 17 previous starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series along with three Camping World Truck Series starts.  Along with the Iowa Speedway debut on June 8th, KB3 will climb behind the wheel of the No. 24 SR2 Motorsports Toyota at the following:

            June 28                       Kentucky Speedway

            August 31                   Atlanta Motor Speedway

            September 6               Richmond International Raceway

            September 14             Chicagoland Speedway

“I am so grateful for this opportunity to drive for SR2 Motorsports,” stated Ken Butler III.  “It has been a little while since I last raced but I had the chance to test with the team last week and am really looking forward to this week in Iowa.”

Brett is credited with 19 career starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  He will make his SR2 Motorsports and NASCAR Nationwide Series debut on July 13th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  He will follow that up with races at:

            August 3                     Iowa Speedway

            August 23                   Bristol Motor Speedway

            October 5                    Kansas Speedway

            October 11                  Charlotte Motor Speedway

“How cool is this to share a ride with my brother,” added Brett.  “There have been some famous brother combinations in the sport of NASCAR at the same time – but I am not sure if they have ever shared the same ride.  I have to watch KB3 run the first race this week but I can’t wait for my turn in the No. 24 Toyota.”
