Cassill Debuts at Texas with the No. 4 Flex Seal Chevrolet

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway marks the first race for Landon Cassill in the No. 4 Flex Seal Chevrolet. Cassill, the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookies of the Year, comes to the team with a diverse racing experience including multiple starts in each of the top three NASCAR national racing series.

After beginning the season alternating between two drivers, the move to the more experienced Cassill should immediately pay dividends. His experience in both racing and testing will help the entire operation, beginning at the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway. Although this is only his second start in a Nationwide car at “The Great American Speedway,” Cassill will be racing his sixth Sprint Cup Series race here this weekend.

The fresh start for Cassill in the Nationwide garage will begin with chassis JDM 014. This Chevy Impala, used last year by the No. 01 team, has been rebuilt and renumbered over the offseason and will make its’ racing debut this weekend. The team will continue to be led by crew chief Dave Smith, who will work with Cassill for the first time.

Dave Smith Quotes: “I was lucky enough to meet Landon in California when he helped our team during practice. I knew right away that working with him for the season would be a great opportunity for the entire team, so we are ready to get started off right in Texas.”

Landon Cassill Quotes: “I am very excited to get the next chapter of my racing career going at Texas Motor Speedway with Johnny Davis and the Flex Seal racing team. After stopping by the shop, I think we will have a good car where we can race competitively all day. I am thankful for the opportunity, and I am looking forward to putting together a strong season. After racing the Cup race in Martinsville, this track will be super fast and a nice change.”
