Rainy forecast forces cancelation of races at Mahoning Valley Speedway for September 14

The scheduled racing events for Saturday, September 14, at Mahoning Valley Speedway have been cancelled due to a rainy forecast.

All weather reports are conclusive with the same projection of rain falling at key times throughout the afternoon and evening hours which for all intent and purposes will greatly hinder the show thus leaving track management the unfortunate decision to cancel. The race card will not be made up.

This was to be the final point event for the Sportsman Modified division, subsequently Kyle Strohl becomes the 2019 champion.

The regular season will conclude with final points next Saturday, September 21. There will be a change to that program, however. Rather than the slated twin-35 lap Modified features, instead the class will run in a 50-lap/$2000-to win event.

Also in action will be the Late Models, Street Stocks, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks.

The speedway will then take the next two weeks off in preparation of Octoberfast 2019 slated for Saturday, October 12 at 4:00 pm. Rain date is October 19.

Modifieds will be running in a 150-lap/$5000-to win feature. Also in action will be Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks plus the All Start Slingshots and Jr. Slingshots. Drivers who compete at Octoberfast will be given 100 bonus points towards their championship standings.

The 2019 season will conclude on Sunday, October 20 with the Mahoning Valley Speedway Small Car Nationals.
