The annual, highly-popular automotive experience “Artomobilia” in Carmel, Indiana, is adding a new event to its weekend lineup in 2020: a Sunday concours-style event supporting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
“Revolanté: A Celebration of Revolutionary Automobiles” will take place Sunday, August 23, and serve as a fitting finale for the 2020 Artomobilia weekend.
Revolanté’s ticket sales will directly benefit the IMS Museum and its many programs preserving and sharing – through exhibits, tours and educational events – the rich history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indiana’s automotive heritage. (The Museum is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and operates separately from the for-profit racetrack.)
Ticket, sponsorship and location information for Revolanté will be announced soon. Artomobilia and IMS Museum staff and officials are co-developing Revolanté, which is expected to attract high-end vintage autos and collectors from all over the United States.
“After a decade of growth in the Artomobilia concept, we were eager to add the perfect Sunday finale to one of Central Indiana’s best outdoor events, and we’re elated to have the IMS Museum staff and board of directors partner with us,” said John Leonard, co-founder of Artomobilia. “Revolanté will be a can’t-miss experience for the public and participants. The IMS Museum has big plans for future exhibits and educational programming, so I’m pleased to have the Museum as our benefactor.”
Gene Perkins, a nationally recognized automotive collector, multi-time concours winner at Pebble Beach and IMS Foundation board member, is the selection committee chairman for Revolanté.
“Artomobilia continues to gather momentum and acclaim among car enthusiasts not only for the quality of the show, but its emphasis on philanthropy,” said Perkins. “The timing for Revolanté is perfect: Taking place soon after the Pebble Beach (Calif.) Concours d’Elegance, we will invite not only the Midwest’s best car collectors, but aficionados traveling to the east coast from California.
“I personally want to thank the Artomobilia team for partnering with the IMS Museum and including us in their philanthropy efforts.”
Revolanté will feature judging of multiple categories of carefully curated vintage automobiles. Subject to final determination, classes may include vintage and early classics, American and European collector cars, classic sports cars, survivors and future classics.
The 2020 Artomobilia weekend is tentatively scheduled as follows:
•Friday, August 21 (morning): “Shift,” a tour of southern Indiana’s best roads among car enthusiasts driving iconic sports car and supercar brands. Proceeds benefit Artomobilia charities.
•Friday, August 21 (evening): “Fuelicious,” a culinary and automotive celebration at the Lucas Estate in Carmel, with tickets and table sponsorships benefitting a select charity.
•Saturday, Aug. 22: “Artomobilia,” in downtown Carmel’s Arts & Design District, featuring more than 400 enthusiast and collector cars, from historically preserved sedans to supercars.
•Sunday, Aug. 23: The inaugural “Revolanté.”
