Mahoning Valley Speedway will have abundance of racing and other neat things happening this coming Saturday evening, August 17.
Firstly there is the usual on track action of stock car racing. A six division program will be presented featuring Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Sportsman Modifieds, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks.
The Hobby Stocks will be facing off in a special 40-lap main paying $400-to-win. This will also be a cone race format.
Off the track there kids will be getting a bit of a jump start on the upcoming school year as backpack giveaways will be held. On hand to help with the backpack handouts will be Chase and Skye from Country Junction in Lehighton along with special guest Paw Patrol.
It’s also ¼-Midget Night. All ¼-Midget racers are invited to come and display their race cars in the front of the main office building prior to the races. Then during intermission they will be escorted onto the speedway for a set of controlled laps.
All ¼-Midget racers with a car along with their handler will be admitted for free into the main grandstands. Racers should have their cars ready for display starting at 4:00 pm.
The track is also having First Responders Night. Any first responder with proper ID will be admitted in for $5 as a show of appreciation for their heroic and courageous work each and every day.
Front gates open at 4:00 pm. Adult grandstand admission is $14, $2 off for students, seniors 65+ and active military. Children under 10 are free.
Pits will open at 11:30 am. Early paid practice ($25 per car) will be from 12:30 to 3:30. Regular warm-ups begin at 4:15. Pit admission $30 members, $40 non-members. Driver sign-ins will be from 3:00 to 4:15. Heats get underway starting at 6:00.
