If you’ve ever dreamed of driving your street-legal vehicle on the high-banked turns of Texas Motor Speedway, Speedway Children’s Charities Texas Chapter will provide that bucket list opportunity May 25 with its 17th annual Laps for Charity fundraiser.
The annual spring event will take place from 5:00-10:00 p.m. on the 1.5-mile tri-oval and in the infield at No Limits Texas. An advance donation of $40 to Speedway Children’s Charities will provide three laps around the track in your, a Laps for Charity T-shirt, car show and live music. Additional three-lap sets cost $30, additional T-shirts are $15 each and you can get your photo taken in Victory Lane for a $10 donation. The participant donation increases to $50 the day of the event.
“The Speedway Children’s Charities Laps for Charity event is one of our longest-running fundraisers and definitely one of the most fun,” said Marissa Chaney, Executive Director of Speedway Children’s Charities – Texas Chapter. “Participants get to see for themselves what it’s like to drive on the Texas Motor Speedway track, though much slower than during a race, and get their photo taken in the exact same places as the legends of motorsports have over more than two decades. The car show, live music, and food and beverage options create a festival atmosphere for the whole family.”
