‘Can’t You See’ the Marshall Tucker Band Will Headline Pre-Race Concert at NHMS

One of the greatest Southern rock bands of all time, the Marshall Tucker Band, will bring a popular mix of old songs, classic favorites and new hits to the front stretch of New Hampshire Motor Speedway with their performance as the featured pre-race act for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July 15.

The Marshall Tucker Band changed the sound of ’70s music with hits such as ‘Can’t You See,’ ‘Heard It in a Love Song’ and ‘Don’t Blame it on the Rain.’ These classic hit songs propelled the band to platinum sales and super stardom 40 years ago. To this day, the band is still rocking in front of huge crowds all over the nation and cranking out new hits for music fans.

“We can’t wait to rev up the crowds in Loudon this summer,” says founder and lead singer Doug Gray.  “We love our fans in New England and we plan to put on a memorable show for them in July. And, I’m a huge NASCAR fan so I cannot wait to be part of the event!”

The Marshall Tucker Band blends rock, country, jazz and the blues into a unique and incredibly popular sound that has resulted in millions of albums sold.  The band formed in Spartanburg, S.C. in 1972 and Doug Gray has been the lead singer since day one.

“Our pre-race concerts have become “must-see” entertainment over the years, and a high-caliber talent like the Marshall Tucker Band guarantees our fans will be rockin’ when our July race goes green,” says Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “Our sport has southern roots and phenomenal national appeal.  So does the Marshall Tucker Band.  This is a perfect fit to ensure our race fans have a memorable and exciting day at the speedway.”

The band’s leader avoids labels for his group, even though they’re known as a southern rock band.  Doug Gray explains that over the years, the group has created original tunes but also covered popular songs by other groups to create a fun concert atmosphere.

The Marshall Tucker Band includes:  Doug Gray – Lead Vocals, Pat Elwood – Bass, Rick Willis– Guitar, Vocals, B.B. Borden – Drums, Marcus Henderson Keyboards, Saxophone, Flute/Vocals, Chris Hicks – Guitar/Vocals.
