The first “True Stadium of Drag Racing,” Route 66 Raceway, announced its 2019 season schedule today. The illustrious line up of event programming features the headlining Route 66 NHRA Nationals, favorites like Import Face-Off, the Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing Burndown at Sundown, the D’Arcy Buick GMC Route 66 Classic and the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing.  New in 2019, the Super Chevy Show makes its highly anticipated jump to the dragstrip for two full days of racing action and a pristine car show. Rounding out the schedule are staples such as Race Your Rides presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts and Rockett Brand Racing Fuel ET Bracket Series events.

“Following up on the successful celebration of Route 66 Raceway’s 20th anniversary season, we are excited to present another action-packed racing schedule offering event programming for all drag racing enthusiasts,” said Route 66 Raceway President Scott Paddock. “The breadth of events we showcased last year set the bar, and we are raising it in 2019 to provide the ultimate experience for racers and fans alike.”

The gates will open on April 13 with the first of a season-long Race Your Ride presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts schedule. This series gives beginner and experienced racers the opportunity to make a pass down the historical quarter mile race track.

The Rockett Brand Racing Fuel ET Bracket Series kicks off on April 28. This series is the pinnacle proving ground for sportsman racers as they compete throughout the season for the chance to represent Route 66 Raceway at the NHRA Division 3 ET Finals in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event champions will have earned the right to compete at the Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, California. The stars of tomorrow will also compete in the Junior Drag Racing League that begins on June 23.

Import Face-Off returns on May 5, bringing quarter-mile drag racing, a car, truck and bike show, sound-system contests, burnout contests, DJs, vendors and more. This import event is the largest, continually running Import show and race series in the U.S., and is hailed as one of the most innovative in the nation. The event offers one of the most exotic collection of imports in the area awarding $250,000+ in cash, trophies and prizes each year. Over $3.2 million in cash and trophy payouts have been granted to event winners since Import Face-Off’s origin.

The world’s fastest motorsport on the planet returns May 30-June 2 with the Route 66 NHRA Nationals on tap for four days of racing. Fans will feel the force of a full-body sensory experience as Funny Cars and Nitro-powered Dragsters accelerate from 0 to over 300 mph in under four seconds. Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with the stars of the series as the NHRA offers unparalleled access to guests with every ticket including a pit pass.

Route 66 Raceway will play host to the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season championship-crowning event on July 11-14. The event will showcase the best of six sportsman racing classes, where many of today’s NHRA stars honed their skills before turning pro. For the ninth consecutive season Route 66 will present the Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing Burndown at Sundown Saturday evening under the lights, where all things fire and fast explode when the sun goes down. Fans will watch as jet-propelled, fire-breathing cars rocket to speeds approaching 300 mph beside a pyrotechnic show, a freestyle motocross demo and much more.

The 14th Annual Nitto Tire Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing will pit the National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) and the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) in head-to-head competition on the track in pursuit of victory July 25-28. Off the track, the event features a car show, swap meet and manufacturer’s midway.

The D’Arcy Buick GMC Route 66 Classic will pay homage to the early days of drag racing and hot rod culture on August 17. Fans attending the Route 66 Classic will leave the world of today and take a trip to yester-year as the event features nostalgia match racing, a bigger and better classic car cruise-in, fierce pin-up contest, the return of the Sneaky Tiki Bar and much, much more! Fans are encouraged to dust off their poodle skirts or leisure suits and crack open that tin of pomade because they are about to experience time travel like never before.

Following an outpour of enthusiasm displayed by Chevrolet fans in the Chicagoland area, the major automotive publisher The Super Chevy Show will bring the event to a new level at as it crosses the street from Chicagoland Speedway’s Champion’s Park to Route 66 Raceway’s drag strip on Saturday and Sunday, September 14-15. The pages of Super Chevy Magazine will come to life with the largest collection of all GM vehicles in one place ranging from classics to modern, all looking to take home the best in class award and a coveted Super Chevy Show jacket.

The event will also offer a Chevrolet-focused performance market place, manufacturer’s midway and live entertainment throughout the day with the backdrop of head-to-head GM-only racing. This show series is the premier destination for all things Chevrolet which means a minute should not be missed.
