Michael Conti, driver of the 4FRONT No. 5, looks to cap off his 2018 season in the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series (NAPiS) with a championship victory in tonight’s series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 2014 series champion has been a favorite in the championship hunt throughout the 2018 season. Conti had strong finishes throughout the regular season, but finally broke through to victory lane in the opening round of the playoffs at Darlington Raceway. He put on a dominating performance and punched his ticket to the championship-deciding race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Even though Conti was a lock to make the championship race at Homestead, he did not slow down. He followed his win at Darlington with a solid second place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and captured his second win of the season at Dover International Speedway. Conti appears to be peaking at the right time as the season comes to the end and the champion is decided.
The playoffs will wrap up a successful first season of the Richmond Raceway’s CHAOS CREW, which is made of up Conti and teammates Marcus Richardson of the #1 TOYOTA OWNERS 400/Virginia is for Racing Lovers, Nick Ottinger of the #18 Federated Auto Parts 400, Jimmy Mullis of the #27 RacingVirginia.com, Logan Clampitt of the #46 Richmond Raceway, and Brian Schoenburg of the #55 HeymanHustle.com.
Team members have collected four checkered flags, and competed towards the front each week. The season started at Daytona International Speedway in February and has progressed throughout the year following a similar schedule as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
The NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series is iRacing’s World Championship series officially sanctioned by NASCAR.
