Shultz Cruises to Victory; Brown and O’Neill find victory lane for a 3rd time.

A few items of business before we get started. A huge thank you goes out to Pocono Raceway for the wonderful giveaways and bringing their beautiful Camaro pace car. We also would like to thank Kocher Motorsports along with Advanced Auto Parts of Walnutport Pa who provided a car care package courtesy of Kocher Motorsports along with some free passes.

Fan Appreciation Night is always special for not only fans but drivers as well. During intermission a host of fans and drivers mingled in turns 1 and 2 with plenty of goodies for the kids and adults. In a special for the evening, all features were 33 laps in distance in celebration of Ted “The Mouth” Grow’s Birthday celebration.

First on the docket was the late model 33 lap main event. Heat race winner Zane Zeiner was unable to even complete a lap before a turn 2 incident sent the 76-car careening into the turn 2 wall ending his night before a lap was even scored. A couple of quick cautions slowed the event but it never phased former late model champion Steve Shultz as he cruised to his first victory of the season over Mike Sweeney, Broc Brown, Barry Kutz and George Ramos.

Broc Brown and Rich Paciotti have been absolutely dominate in the street stock division this year. The only difference this time is Brown had to work even harder for this one as on the initial green flag laps the Alpine Dental number 14 car had begun leaking fluid. Brown was summoned to the pit area and would have to restart 13th. Brown would charge his way to the front and battle point leader Paciotti for several laps before pulling away with ten laps to go. Paciotti, Todd Ahner, Eric Kocher and Jason Harman would complete the top 5.

Harry O’Neill never seems to miss a beat when it comes to competing for wins at Evergreen Raceway. This one was a little more difficult as he would have to battle Josh Oswald for the win. Oswald would start from the pole in the 33-lap main event and he would jump out to the early lead and looked strong in the Mr. Disc Golf number 17. Oswald would hold off all challenges until lap 15 when Harry O’Neill would pull alongside to battle for the lead. Oswald and O’Neill would battle side by side for 10 laps without making any type of contact. O’Neill would finally pull the trigger driving around the 17 up top and cruise to his 3rd win of the season. Oswald would finish 2nd followed by Kapish, John Ayre Sr and Scott Adams who started 19th  and drove the race with a broken wrist to a top 5 finish.
