Fun Activities On-Site for Kids During Stars & Stripes Weekend

Chicagoland Speedway announced today that there will be a handful of unique activities for kids to participate in throughout the NASCAR weekend.

From Thursday to Saturday, kids’ tickets will be free in select sections for the ARCA Racing Series SCOTT® 150, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overton’s 225 and the Xfinity Series Overton’s 300. On Sunday, Kids tickets are $25 off adult prices for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Overton’s 400. Kids can visit the Kids Club display to register as an official member for free. The Chicagoland Speedway Kids Club is the best way to keep kids dialed into racing action on a regular basis.

Throughout the event weekend, young race fans can enjoy various activities and race-day experiences. For instance, as part of the NASCAR Salutes initiative, the Freedom Walk section in Champions Park will offer numerous ways for kids to learn about American history including traveling war museums, military vehicles on display and resident military experts. Following the Overton’s 225 on Friday night, fans can enjoy a firework finale show light up the sky.

Chicagoland Speedway mascot DASH will make regular appearances throughout the weekend as well and will be available for photos with fans. Gaming trucks, face painters, bounce houses and much more will be available for kids in Champions Park located at the Kids Club display.

On Sunday, July 1, young fans will also have the opportunity to attend an autograph session, featuring Monster Energy Cup Series drivers Kyle Busch, William Byron and Michael McDowell. Additionally, Chicagoland Speedway’s Kids Club Crew Chief Ryan Blaney will make a special appearance on Sunday exclusively for Kids Club members.

“We’re thrilled to feature a robust lineup of programming and activities for kids to enjoy throughout our four day race weekend, including meeting their favorite drivers and learning about our nation’s storied history,” said Chicagoland Speedway President Scott Paddock. “NASCAR weekends are always kid-friendly and a great way for families to create lasting memories, and our four day race weekend will deliver upon that promise.”

Purchasing Infield Fan Zone Pit Passes will allow fans of all ages to see drivers up close and personal on the red carpet, as well as receive “on-track” access for the Randy Houser pre-race concert on Sunday with the opportunity to walk along pit road.
