Driver Ready To Battle At, “The Concrete Jungle”

After a week off, drivers are ready to get back in the seat to race at Kingsport.

A handful of track regulars competed in the U.S Short Track Nationals last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, but now all focus has switched back to, “The Concrete Jungle.”

This Friday night is Ford Street Car Night. The event will include any Ford Hot Rod, antique, classic or muscle car can come out and make a parade lap for pre-race ceremonies.  There will be a place for participants to park and display their ride on the mini way from 5p.m. till 7:30 p.m.

This Friday’s race will feature races in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modified 4 division.  LMSC, Pure 4, Mod Street, and the Pure Street class is also on the schedule. The Vintage class also makes its return with a 20-lap feature.

A few story lines to follow as we move into our sixth race of the season:

Zeke Shell looks to score his third win of the season in the LMSC division.

Just six points separate Mod Street drivers, Trey Lane and Royce Peters.

Ford Street Car Night is scheduled for Friday, May 25. Grandstands will open at 5 p.m. and racing will begin at 8 p.m.

The Kingsport Speedway Little Racers Club will be the Speedway office on A-Side with fun activities.

Adult admission is $10 and children 12-and-under are admitted free. Tier parking along Turns 3 and 4 is available for $10 per vehicle plus admission.
