VCU Health Named the Official Health Care Provider of Richmond Raceway

Richmond Raceway announces a partnership with VCU Health naming the organization the Official Health Care Provider of Richmond Raceway. VCU Health medical professionals will continue to serve the track with first class care for NASCAR drivers and teams as well as loyal Richmond Raceway fans at the Infield Care Center and Gate 40 Fan Care Center.

The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System is an urban, comprehensive academic medical center in central Virginia established to preserve and restore health for all people, to seek the cause and cure of diseases through innovative research, and to educate those who serve humanity.

“We welcome VCU Health as our ‘Official Health Care Provider of Richmond Raceway’ to provide the best care possible for fans, drivers, and teams at the track,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “VCU Health will deliver their first class health care and top notch medical teams to the track to provide the same trusted service they give the greater Richmond region every day.”

“This is an amazing opportunity to extend the care we provide every day at VCU Medical Center, to the Raceway, for this exciting event,” said Dr. Jeff Ferguson, emergency department physician, VCU Medical Center. “Like NASCAR, providing high-quality emergency medical care takes a team working together. Being the official health care provider of Richmond Raceway allows us the chance to work with our team, which includes our regional partners from Henrico County and ETS Ambulance Group so care is timely and coordinated.”

VCU Health has the only comprehensive Level 1 trauma center in Virginia that is verified in adult, pediatric and burn trauma care. VCU Medical Center’s state-of-the-art facilities and experienced staff are well-equipped to handle the most complex traumatic injuries with board certified trauma and critical care surgeons around the clock.

On Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m., the sport’s best take to the track for the Federated Auto Parts 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race as NASCAR crowns 2017 Regular Season Champion.
